Setting your service area and radius

Pin your office or city on the map and set a max distance so Willa knows who you can serve.

Where in Willa: Settings > Service area & assessments

Who can do this: Owners and admins.

Before you start

  • Your office address or the main city you serve, with its state
  • How far your caregivers will travel
  1. 1

    Enter a centre

Type your office address or just your city, for example 'Omaha, NE'. Adding the state helps when a city name is common.

  2. 2

    Set a max distance

Enter the radius in miles or kilometres. Distance is measured in a straight line from the centre.

  3. 3

    Choose assessment types

Pick in-home visits, video calls or both.

  4. 4

    Save and check the pin

After saving you will see 'Pinned' with the matched location. That means Willa can check coverage.

  5. 5

    Add towns (optional)

On the Willa page under Service area, list towns or exceptions, like 'No service on the islands'.

Check it worked

After saving you'll see 'Pinned: Seattle, WA' (or your location) under the address. Then call Willa with an address inside your area and one outside it.

Common problems

It says it could not find the location.
Add the state or province, or use your full office address with a postal code.
What happens with callers outside my area?
Willa does not book them. She kindly explains, saves their details and a coordinator can follow up.
The pin landed in the wrong state.
Many US cities share names (Springfield, Portland, Columbia). Always add the state, like 'Portland, OR', and save again.
I entered a PO box.
PO boxes often can't be placed on the map. Use your office street address or just the city and state.
Callers I serve are being told they're outside the area.
Distance is a straight line from the centre, not driving distance. Increase the radius a little, or move the centre to the middle of your territory.
We serve a few specific towns, not a circle.
Set a radius that covers them all, then list the towns and any exceptions in the optional notes on the Willa page.
We have two offices.
Each location is its own company in Willa with its own service area. See Managing multiple locations.
What happens with out-of-area callers?
Willa won't book them. She explains kindly, saves their details and flags the lead so a coordinator can refer them elsewhere.
